Information

Most people want to know as much as possible about their disease and how it is to be treated and managed. They want to know what life will be like before, during and after treatment.

We will share all our knowledge with you, because we believe you should be able to access whatever information you feel you need about your disease and its treatment, no matter how technical or scientific.

Without a guide the web offers a bewildering mass of information, some good, some less so. At LOC we give you the best available printed information on each aspect of your disease and its treatment (there is still a role for paper in this electronic world) and we know which websites and other sources give the most clear, expert and up-to-date explanations. We will help you to find these and to avoid those written in impenetrable jargon. And while having treatment with us you have full access to the web and can use the time to look up cancer information with our help.

We also work very closely with Cancerbackup, the leading UK cancer information service (which is chaired by one of our consultants) and this is the default screen in our information areas.
