Dr Sarah Slater trained at St Bartholomew's Hospital. She subsequently gained her MD and became accredited in medical oncology in 2001. A consultant at Barts, she was appointed Associate Clinical Director in 2006. Dr Slater specialises in cancers of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts, hepatobiliary cancers and breast cancer.

She has published articles in the management of gastro-intestinal cancers, and co-authored the BMJ clinical evidence review on breast cancer management. She is a member of ASCO and the Association of Cancer Physicians.
