Dr Nick Maisey MD MBBS MRCP

Consultant Medical Oncologist

Dr Nick Maisey qualified in 1993 from Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital, and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians 1997. He completed his specialist training in medical oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital. During his specialist training he was successful in a competitive grant from the National Cancer Institute to perform research at the Institute of Cancer Research in London. In 2002 he was awarded an MD thesis for his work on early response markers in Cancer. He has published several peer reviewed papers and presented at a number of national and international meetings. 

In 2005, he was appointed consultant in Medical oncology at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS trust. His specialist interests include the management of colorectal cancer, gastrointestinal tumours and lymphoma. He is currently the clinical lead for the systemic management of colorectal cancer at Guys and St Thomas’ hospital, and service improvement lead for lymphoma. He is principal investigator on a number of national clinical trials as well as commercial studies. He has a keen interest in education and training, and represents the south London oncology training scheme at the London Deanery.
