David McLaren, Chief Executive
David McLaren joined The London Oncology Clinic in November 2006 following a career in the marketing services and communications industries, latterly with the WPP Group. Working for some of the UKs leading agencies and consultancies, he has advised many of the worlds major corporations in virtually every sector of the market, and was responsible for many successful campaigns on their behalf.
Over a thirty year period he was CEO of three successful companies, each recognized and awarded as an industry leader. The last of these was the global PR consultancy, Hill and Knowlton. While there he was one of the advisors to the London 2012 Olympic bid, prior to which he had also advised the successful Athens bid for the 2004 Games.
He started his career as a journalist at the BBC.
He is a graduate of the University of London with a degree specializing in War Studies. His postgraduate study was at The Courtauld Institute.
David is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, and The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. He is a member of the National Trust Committee for the Thames and Solent region, and a member of the national committee for the cancer care charity, Maggies Centres. He was recently made a member of the Business Advisory Board for the Ashmolean Museum, and appointed as a Board Director of the Oxford Literary Festival.
