Dr Robert Marcus graduated from University College Hospital Medical School in 1977, subsequently specialising (and lecturing) in haematology at UCH and other leading hospitals. Prior to joining King’s College Hospital and coming to LOC, he was based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he was the Lead Cancer Clinician and established their bone marrow transplant unit. He has chaired many review groups, taught at the University of Cambridge and has been Examiner for the Royal College of Pathologists and University College Hospital.
Between 1998 and 2001 he was also a Research Fellow with the Leukaemia Research Fund, and between 1999 and 2002, Clinical Director of the British Committee for Standards in Haematology. He is the Medical Advisor to the Lymphoma Association, and Vice-President of the Leukaemia Care Society.
He has authored or contributed to 140 papers and articles, and has co-edited three books including most recently a new standard text on the Lymphomas.
